15. Vinegar is great as a natural cleaner because of it's ability to break down simple stains, however it is the WORST thing you can use to clean carpet or furniture if you have pet stains. Vinegar has an acidic base with properties similar to urine. Because animals urinate based on odor, the vinegar scent can actually attract your pet to that spot. To properly remove pet stains, you need to properly clean and flush out any of the urine, and in cases where vinegar had been used, also flush out the vinegar.
