Apodora The apodora is a non venomous species of snake found in Papua New Guinea. These are large constrictor snakes, meaning instead of using venom like a rattlesnake or cobra, they’ll strangle its prey until it becomes unconscious or dies. These snakes can measure 4.5 meters or 14 feet long! That’s not something you want to find in your home. It weighs no more than about 22 kilograms or 50 pounds. These snakes do have the capability to change colors and it can supposedly change colors when it’s angered. They prefer feasting on smaller mammals during night. These large reptiles are on high demand to be traded on the illegal pet market. They would bring in a huge price if captured. But if this snake gets out of it’s cage, it could wreak havoc on the entire area. 4. Eastern Diamondback In case you were curious about the biggest venomous snake here in the US, the Eastern Diamondback makes our list. The Eastern Diamondback is the largest venomous snake and obviously one of the more dangerous. The venom for this snake is similar to that of rattlesnakes but slightly less potent than coral snakes. However these deadly diamondbacks have the capability of delivering the venom deep within the tissue of it’s victim, meaning it reaches the veins much quicker. Unlike some other snakes, these fearless freaks of nature will stand their ground and not move an inch when threatened. Possibly because he knows, he’s going to most likely win the fight. When humans try to taunt or capture these snakes, that’s usually when people get bit. These are found in the Eastern United States in states like North Carolina to Florida and as far west as Mississippi. This beast can weigh about 5 pounds and stretch 5.5 3. The Black Mamba The Black Mamba are known for their ferocity and highly aggressive nature when threatened. They are also Africa’s longest venomous snake and reach up to 14 feet in length while only weighing 3.5 pounds. They get their name not from the color of their scales but from the color inside their mouth. Burmese Python The average size of a Burmese Python is about 20 feet long but many have been known to grow even larger. One python with a sarcastic name, “Baby” is living at the Serpent Safari Park in Illinois is measured in at 27 feet or 8.23 meters and is world’s heaviest burmese python weighing a total of 403 pounds or 183 kilograms! Someone get that snake on a diet! The girth is usually about the size of a telephone pole. They live most of their young lives in trees until they are old enough to go hunting and then stay mostly on the the land. The Burmese pythons are also excellent swimmers and can stay underwater for 30 minutes! Females grow to be much larger than males. The world’s biggest snake resides in forests, swamps and marshes to stay moist. They love eating capybaras, wild pigs and have even eaten jaguars! Nothing is safe from this snake. The stretchy jaw allows them to eat basically any animal, regardless the size. They can apparently go weeks or even months without eating, after a big meal. But one this thing gets hungry again, you better watch out!
