10 Biggest Unbelievable Animals That Actually Exist!

10 world's biggest creatures, from giant crocodiles to sea serpents, you won't believe these are all real... 10. Giant golden-crowned flying fox Batman had nightmares about bats, this giant would have likely have given him a nervous breakdown. That’s because while the average bat has a wingspan of around 1 foot, the golden capped fruit bat has a wingspan of 5 ft. 5 times longer. This makes it the largest bat species in the world. Luckily, you’re unlikely to run into one of these, since they prefer to stay in untouched forests in the phillipines, away from humans. And they’re harmless, because they only eat fruit. Unluckily, their species is approaching extinction, due to deforestation and being hunted for their prized pelts. 09. African Giant Snail Warning, if you don’t like giant slimy oozy creatures, close your eyes now. The African giant snail is the largest land species on earth, growing up to 8 inches in length. They can live for up to 10 years, which should be long enough for them to play a game of fetch with. However, this snail is considered one of the most invasive species in the world because they can survive on over 500 species of plants, so don’t go running to get one as a pet just yet. 08. Darius Okay, I’ll wait a minute for everyone to stop saying Awwww before continuing. This is Darius, the world’s longest rabbit. Darius and his equally giant brother are Continental rabbits, a breed that used to be specifically bred for meat in Germany. He’s is 4 ½ feet long and weighs 50 pounds. Darius and his brother maintains their bulk by eating 2,000 carrots and 700 apples / year. And he eats out of a dog bowl, because apparently he thinks he’s a dog. 07. Lolong the crocodile Crikey! This giant dinosaur is named Lolong, and at 21 feet long is the biggest crocodile ever held in captivity. Lolong is a saltwater crocodile, which can reach over 23 feet in length, though the females are often half the size Catching him was no easy matter - It took over 100 people to bring him onto land, and he broke through the restraining ropes twice. He was believed to be responsible for the disappearance of several people and many water buffaloes, although no remains were found when his stomach was searched. 06. Coconut Crabs Coconut crabs are the largest land anthropods (the group including insects, spiders, and crustaceans) that live on land. At 3ft long they’re not as frightening as their underwater cousins which we’ll discuss later - but they also have to drag all that weight around on land. True to their names, the do eat coconuts - the rip the husk off with their pincers and hit it until it breaks open. They then use the coconut husk to line the inside of their underground burrows… which is kind of creepy if you think about it. It’s like they’re lining their home with the skin of their enemies. They’re almost entirely land based and have a very strong sense of smell. They’re very protective of their burrows, eating other crabs that try to enter. 05. The Oarfish By now, many people have heard about the mysterious oarfish, the inspiration for legends of giant sea leviathons. Like many deep sea creatures, very little is known about htem, because they only surface when they’re sick or dying, usually dwelling in the depths of the ocean. We do know that they’re the longest known species of bony fish, reportedly reaching up to 56 feet long and weighing 600 pounds (although the longest one we’ve seen live was 18 feet long. Also despite their terrifying appearance, the creatures are harmless. They have a small digestive opening, survive primarily on plankton, and don’t even have real teeth. Some people have also said that the fish have the power to predict earthquakes, which may have some truth. 04. Nomura Jellyfish A tiny jellyfish sting could really hurt. Probably more so from a 6 foot wide and 450 pound monster Nomura Jellyfish. That’s as heavy as a large lion, making this the biggest jellyfish in the world. The stings are said to be non fatal, just incredibly painful, although there have been several death reports. Luckily, if you happen to encounter one of them off the coast of China or Japan, it shouldn’t be too hard to see this gigantic blob floating towards you.
