100-year-old woman shatters 100 meters sprint record

Retired teacher Ella Mae Colbert set a new unofficial world record for the 100-meter-dash by a 100-year-old on Tuesday at Chesnee Middle School in South Carolina. Colbert finished the sprint in 46.7 seconds, much faster than current world record holder and fellow American Ida Keeling, who set a time of one minute and 17.33 seconds in Philadelphia on May 3, just a couple of weeks shy of her 101st birthday. Colbert is now waiting for the Guinness Book of World Records to confirm the new record.
