100m World Record - 9.27 | Mini Documentary

Australian physiologist and coach predicts the possible 100m world record time in the nearest future

Comments

  1. I don't know about this ground contact time theory. It seems like that is a super difficult factor to improve upon over the whole distance of 100 meters. Over 10 meters, yes, but the full 100 meters, I just don't see it. I am thinking the only realistic way to decrease the contact time that much is to improve technology with the track and shoes. Maybe make the spring coefficient in the track higher. Or provide a special race track that is good for races and race conditioning, but not suitable for long term training.
  2. Sub 9 will happen. It may take 50 years and another freak of nature like Bolt, but it will happen.
  3. Unless you're at the super elite professional level, fast twitch muscles/genetics really don't matter. Proper training, fitness, strength and flexibility will trump genetics at a recreational level.
  4. when bolt was running 150m race he did between 50and150 m,he did it in 8.72 sec...
  5. I think that a big time saver is in starting reaction times, you're allowed to go on .100 after the start but Bolt averages on the low .200s. If Bolt can achieve a .100, a sub 9.50 isn't out of reach without the muscle fibre contraction which means that with them taken into account a 9.17 time!
  6. 9.4 that's the limit
  7. You are undermiming the overall human capability, the 9.27s will be broken, it's only about time.
  8. it will never go lower then 9.00 seconds though 9.27 possibly I think bolt had potential to run a 9.50
  9. The Bullet Man Bob Hayes was behind five relay teams when he got the baton on the anchor leg of the 4 x 100-meter relay final in Tokyo. He made up nine meters on the field. Nine meters! He ran his leg in 8.6! Look it up.
  10. I have fast turnover but I'm only 5'2 has science develop a way to make short people taller too? I mean my PR's 11.6 and I ran a constant under 12 time imagine... dang how I wish I was taller lol
  11. No one will ever beat bolt.. Jamaican representin 👊
  12. they need to do speed ladder training. watch how fast theyll go on and off the track
  13. it can't be faster, simply because if he manages to shorten his ground contact rate, it would mean that his strides have to be shorter and he relies on his long strides
  14. Jamaicans are slaves from Ghana. So technically ghana owns asafa Powell yohan Blake and usain bolt 😋
  15. but i ran the 100m at 9.24 second (WR)
  16. with drugs or without drugs
  17. Probably Bolt's son or grand child will do, we shall see :-)
  18. 1:31 wouldn't the first 30 meters be acceleration, then the rest .78 seconds? i don't see why it fluctuates.
  19. he claims sprinters have maximized the amount of force output. which means good luck trying to reduce ground contact times with the same amount of force output. lower ground contact times are a product of large amounts of vertical force.
  20. with advancement in steroids and drugs......someone will hit sub 9:20
