12" Ported Speaker Box Build Timelapse + Plans

Time lapse build of a simple ported speaker box that I designed for my 12" subwoofer. The plans I made require the box to be constructed with 3/4" MDF board. The box is 1.1 cubic feet in volume and is tuned to resonate at 37hz. If you want to build this same speaker box the plans are pictured in the video. The build time lapse shows aligning, gluing, nailing, and carpeting of the speaker box. The music in this video is "No Win" by Silent Partner I found it in the Youtube free audio list.

  1. You built in the car, or home room??
  2. nice port, ha ha ha ha
  3. Ok, I have built my own sub box, about 8cuf. But it's vibrating as hell! It's sealed and very tight. I belive that it is because subwoofer has direct contact with the wood. Any ideas?
  4. can i have one?
  5. I just built two of these for my man cave. I used Pyle 8 ohm speakers and wired them in parallel to a parts express sub plate amplifier. They work great.
  6. what program did you use to calculate the box
  7. Nice little box. I like to route a lip for the speaker to fit into, then I put a gasket material around that for an air tight fit. Its tough to get an airtight fit with carpet on your mating surface.
