  12. If you is interested in aquaponics the greatest results that i've had was by following the Keiths Ponics Site (just google it) definately the most helpful course that I have ever tried.
  13. a DIY aquaponics system can be as efficient as commercial aquaponics but with less expenses. If you wish to maintain both an environment-friendly and healthy living, opting for aquaponics is a great way to start.

  18. The 1st aquaponics system called "chinampa" was invented by the Incas, in fact the Inca's themselves admitted to the Spanish Conquistadores that they have been using the "chinampa system" for so long that none of them can remember when they have invented it! But their records shows that it was in use for an unknown number of thousands years and they are still using it centuries later after the arrival of the Spanish Conquistadores. The chinampas can produce 3 times more food and can produce 7 harvests a year without failure. So why all the fuss about aquaponics in the first place. The truth of the matter is somebody developed a non-ciruclating hybrid soil-based water culture in the 20s and 30s which in principle is similar to the chinampa system and it is a stunning success because soil-based agriculture is a 10,000 year old time tested and time proven system and combining it with a water-based culture hydroponic system in hybrid form and good soil is a powerful and unfailing self-regulating growing medium that allows farmers to make a mistake and still their crops survives. In the 1940s and 1950s 2 more non-circulating time tested and time proven hydroponics were invented and they are known as the Bengal system in India and the Wroclow system in Poland and a hybrid artificial soil-based non-water culture system was created in the 1950s known as the Mittleider method in America. The floating gardens of Burma is a form of aquaponics and none of them knows how long they have been using it or who invented it but it is similar in function of the Incan chinampa system, and these two system are immune to floods and droughts when properly made and managed.
  19. WHERE CAN I GET THE PLASTIC FOR THE WIRE TANKS? ARE THEY BAGS OR PLASTIC SHEETING? HOW ARE THEY CONSTRUCTED AND WHAT AMOUNT OF WATER DO THEY HOLD? THANKS ! SETTING UP A PLACE IN THE MOUNTAINS IN CEBU PHILIPPINES AND WANT TO GROW STRAWBERRIES !
  20. A great example of a very bright person who can excel in many subjects and even create a business while being underchallenged in school. A fact typically beyond comprehension for many normal adults (including her aquaculture instructor).
