Comments

  1. Comment from 2015!
  2. John Doherty would have got Silver if he did get tripped
  3. If that was you in Castro's position I dont think you would be laughing. What happened to Castro has to be one of the most heartbreaking experiences an athlete could possibly go through. Not sure why you find it funny.
  4. who cares! pre ate too much peanut butter
  5. @Zndwls Just like Pre-Fontaine 12 yrs earlier.
  6. olimpia ziege
  7. John Ngugi my village Hero doing his thing here. I suck in running but will keep on trying.
  8. @Zndwls Front running is always good for those who know how to use their energy well. Check Out Samuel chelanga 2011 NCAA awesome win. Love running!!
  9. At the time that Viren competed blood doping was not actually against the rules.
  10. Viren NEVER admitted to blood doping; it's a BS statement that nobody can ever prove, not the least of which includes yourself.
  11. I think Viren was 5th, not fourth.
  12. Ngugi ran his 59 to 60-second laps early enough to make the other runners feel that he would fade later. Either they lacked the fitness or the courage needed to win. I'm sorry for Castro who lost his "certain" silver medal in the final 10 to 20 metres and even lost the bronze medal. Baumann showed his fierce final kick that helped him to win this distance in 1992. Kunze rarely ran well after this race. Maree and Buckner ran mediocrely.
  13. Ya know Maree sorta reminds me of a bernard lagat!aha. just to point that out there!
  14. poor castro, i really feel for the little guy. he showed so much guts in trying to go with ngugi, he tried so hard. it seems almost an injustice that he got no medal. the great Ron Clarke said when commentatinf "They shouldnt allow that, castro at least deserved a bronze." something like that is the stuff that happens in nightmares. really feel for him, he deserved much better.
  15. I wonder what would have happened if Aouita was in this final... But it's Ngugi's victory, so congrats to him.
  16. John Ngugi raced one of the most perfect tactical Olympic finals of all time.Right up there with the memorable victory of Kip Keino in the 1500m in 1968.These guys are not robots. They can think on their feet and adapt to the situation at hand.Pure racing.Wow.Memories for life.Thank you. P.s. He also won 5 World Cross Country Chamionships over 12km.
  17. Umm..yeah I know. Thats called sarcasm. You mispelled "stupid".
  18. Yeah what does Frank Shorter know about running anyway!
