A 124 Pound Blue Catfish It was May 2005 when a man named Tim Pruitt from Alton, Illinois was fishing on the Mississippi River and walked away with a 124-pound blue catfish. With a diameter of 44 inches and a length of 58 inches, the catfish took almost an hour to rip out of the water. The good news is that the fish was taken to a tank to live for the rest of his life instead of being killed and eaten. 9. A 140 Pound Siamese Carp In August 2014, a man named Andy Harman was victorious in reeling in this monster-sized Siamese carp during his vacation in Thailand while he was staying a fishing resort.
