2004 ALCS - Boston Red Sox - "The Steal"

Dave Robert's steal in the bottom of the 9th inning in Game 4 of the 2004 ALCS set in motion the one of the most improbable and greatest comebacks in MLB history. www.fandfsports.wordpress.com Video is under Fair Use: Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act in 1976; Allowance is made for "Fair Use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research.Fair use is a use permitted by copyright statute that might otherwise be infringing. 1. 12 and a half years later and my heart still skips a beat when I see Roberts take off.
  2. WOW!!! Makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up every time I see this. Likely the biggest steal in Red Sox history.Kevin Millars walk sets up (pinch runner) Dave Roberts steal. Bill Mueller brings Roberts home on base hit which keeps us alive until Popi finds his pitch in the early morning hours. This is why baseball is so great. Red Sox Nation forever!
  3. "We'll see you later tonight!"
  4. Roberts came through twice in that ALCS - he scored the tying run the next night, again off of Mariano Rivera. And two clutch walks by Millar (largely ignored) got him there.
  5. What is so special about this moment in baseball?
  6. che emozione.
  7. Baseball, grande amore mio.
  8. 12 years after the steal, it still gives me the same chill watching it.
  9. Yankees fans shouldn't be avoid this part of YouTube any more cause they can't throw this in our face. We raised a WS in 2009 while steamrolling the BloSox in regular season meeting since 2005 including a 9-0 comeback in 2012. The BloSox also blew another 9-0 division lead in September of 2011 by losing there last 18 of 24 games. Their Beantown NFL counterparts had there perfect season spoiled by the New York Giants in Superbowl 42 and were beaten again by the underdog NY team in 2012 in addition to watching there NHL counterparts, the Boston Bruins blow a 3-0 playoff lead of their own in 2010. NY choked and choked baad, but Boston as seen up above, chokes all the time and it's hilarious.
  10. Imagine if he was out...would we ever have won a WS?
  11. not even a Red Sox fan and this has me all emotional
  12. Scouts always focus on the catchers time from glove to glove (~1.8 seconds) but they don't pay enough attention to the accuracy of the throw. If Posada puts that throw on the first base side of the bag, the runner is out.
  13. Still get chills and it s been over 10 years!!
  14. this was awesome man
  15. Don't forget the money thrown under the table in this series.
  16. Great video, superb use of the song with the visuals. 10 years ago tonight, the comeback was complete in the Bronx.
  17. Perhaps one of the single most pivotal moments in all of professional sports, and certainly for the Red Sox.
  18. The song is Undying Love - Two Steps From Hell
  19. I challenge you to name one Yankee world championship that comes anywhere near the magnitude of this series
