  2. This is a joke!! Pause the video when they go down the home stretch, the guy in front has TWO feet off the ground SO MANY TIMES
  3. The olympic 20k and 50k true athletes my husband who was a 4:00 miler says. Hardest events in road racing!!!
  4. holy shit these guys speedwalk faster than i run. alot faster
  5. I didn't even know this was a sport
  6. Racewalking is better for knees than running.
  7. These people walk a mile at the speed I run one.
  8. It actually burns more calories.
  9. Racewalking is probably more efficient than running....
  10. Race walking is a great sport. My knees hurt when I run, but now the pain is gone because I race walk, This motion strengthens the hamstrings which create balance for the already-strong quads. It is also one of the few things that works the shins, lower abs, and love handles. It hits muscles you didn't even know you had. The first time you do two laps hard, you're unable able to move for three days because of soreness.
  11. @mvpguru Yup.
  12. did he seriously break 6 minutes for the mile walking...?
  13. Thanks for the comment. I really value input from someone smart enough to misspell "retarded."
  14. wtf this is retarted
  15. @chewy8126 A little late here, but I meant to say "butterfly" instead of "crawl."
  16. @ap1234512: The leg isn't straight on contact when running. That's what really (biomechanically) differentiates racewalking from running. The contact rule leads to a lot of confusion, but it's judged just like technique in the tripe-jump or even whether the foot was over the line in the long-jump: The human eye decides.
  17. @chewy8126: Do you think it odd that a swimmer chooses to do the crawl instead of the faster, arguably less technical, freestyle? Basically the same idea. Or maybe a better track correlation is the 3,000m steeple chase. Obviously it's slower and more technical to jump over barriers. Why on earth would someone want to do that? Some people like a challenge....Thanks for watching!
  18. I've never understood why someone would choose to "race walk" rather than run, but to each his own I suppose....
  19. It,s wonderful that racewalking is in the Melrose Games. If only racewalking could overcome its poor public image! Long live racewalking!
  20. so i just decided to be the first to comment!
