Boy good thing gravity was there to help the truck go back DOWN the hill. God people are fucking stupid to pretend this is some amazing technology. Typical Toyota commercial. "if you get your truck stuck going up a sandy hill, with our proprietary technology, you can just back the truck back down the way you came!" Can literally any other 4WD vehicle do this? Mercedes Benz developed a vehicle for the sand dunes in Africa, where getting stuck was not an option. Through research, they found a low gear of 1:64 (64:1?) being extremely slow, would idle a truck out of deep unstable sand.

I disagree with this guy. Disk brakes will quickly clean themselves. Drums suck because all the mud and sand gets trapped inside the drum.

Done that 2wd bury in sand to frame thing in my f250 sd work truck then put it in 4wd drive and finished going up the hill

this is so dumb and false. any car can get out by reversing our of a situation where driving forward is not possible, I do it every winter when it snows, people don't won't use your bs crawl control to get out of easy to get out of situations. you are trying to sell water to an ocean.
