2. I think the second one is made from a thick wall tube and it's not made from a solid rod. Too many "pipe marks" on the second one. In the lock uses about 78 cm of steel, 78 times 2^2 times PI is ~979.68 divided by 1000 is 0,98 cubic decimeter. One cubic decimeter of steel is about 7.4 kg. 0.98 times 7.4 is ~7,25 kg which was 15.98 pounds(!). That is nearly double of the 9 pounds. Otherwise the sliding element of this lock, had a welded end cap. Why need this, if the lock is made from a solid rod?

4. i cant think of any normal civilian use for these crazy things .. do you know anything about it's intended purpose, or at least have a plausible idea?
5. Great video but (yes I am gone come with a "but" no sorry man..) what most people STILL don't get is that SIZE DOESN'T MATTER. Quality does!!! These locks are only single locked and the material is welded on probably not hardened steel at all. You can simple break this lock by twisting the shackle with solid crow bar. I know that the Kryptonite are also not the "best" when it comes down to quality but they are "decent"  I will try to do a review of the Abus Granit Extreme 59 U-Lock as soon as possible because this lock is one of the best out there in terms of quality, anti manipulation features and anto theft features. Don't get my comment wrong man but I wanted to straighten this out! Still cool U-Locks though :) Your friend, Adrian
