11. Most of these dogs are mastiffs and that's the way to go. I have two Boerboels in South Africa, Trooper and Major and God help anyone who gets on the wrong side of them. They recognise most of the family but we have to be careful of rare visitors. Mastiffs are intelligent animals that require exercise and a way to absorb their interest; other-size you'll get your carpets and furniture chewed.

13. well! in all fairness! we do not have any means to decide what breed of dogs are the best guard dogs ever?? do we?? cant compare!! the breed you like most is likely to be the best! for sure , big and mean!! but for real likely not to be the baddest dog breed!! dogs are all individuals like we are!! so lets forget the baddest and the best of anything!! these great animals are our companions and our best and forgiving friends, lets treat them like they deserve to be threatened!! we are for the time being the top animals on this planet , so lets do us well and be that animal!! the future will not forgive us if we depart from this path!! greetings to all for you from my young rhodesian!! my great companion in life!!
14. I have seen pits battling Tibetan Mastiffs, Caucasian Shephards, Ovcharkas and most of the time pits won. Basically, it's not the size of the dog in the fight but the size of the fight in the dog. I observed that pits are not only game but they have the high drive, tenacious spirit, stamina, agility, fearless and the leaness to win a fight. They are tactical too. They can be dwarfed by their opponents and their big flurry necks and the pits will go for their legs or even the balls to get the opponents into submission. Big dogs have the weight and size advantage but they lack the physical endurance against the pits.
    I have been to Afghanistan and Asia to watch organised dog fights and they are just about the same as when you watched mixed martial arts competition. They stopped the dog fights when the opponent losses. If the world can organised MMA competition, why can't they do that for dogs. Cos these dogs were breed to fight just like cock, bull and siamese fish fighting. Dr Carl Semencic in his book "Pit bulls and tenacious guard dogs" mentioned that if a breed is born to fight, let them fight. It's their right. Furthermore, dog fighting has been around since the Romans and Queen Mary's time in Britain.
    Sadly, its just politics. If there is money to be made, it will be deemed legitimate.
    I just wish these beautiful breeds including the pits will be here to stay for a long time.
