6 Biggest Plot Holes In Doctor Strange

If you're new, Subscribe! → http://bit.ly/Subscribe-to-Looper Doctor Strange is undeniably fun from start to finish. By introducing the mystic arts, the multiverse, and a whole lot of Dormammu, the Benedict Cumberbatch-starring superhero sorcery story keeps Marvel Studios' streak alive into the latter half of 2016. But it's not perfect. Call us nitpickers, call us buzzkills, call us acolytes of the dark dimension, but we're about to dive into some of the less magical aspects of Doctor Strange's plot. While its story is actually really tight overall, there are still a few niggling plot holes and contrivances that you can't simply wave away with the Wand of Watoomb...no matter how hard you try. Oh, and it should go without saying, but let's say the magic words anyway: massive spoilers ahead... Insecurity system | 0:43 Oh, hey, Kaecilius | 1:28 Eye, oh my… | 2:15 No time to explain | 2:42 Kung fu cloak | 3:32 Two sanctums, or three? | 4:12 Follow-up appointment | 4:32 Read more here → http://www.looper.com/29967/biggest-plot-holes-doctor-strange/ Website → http://www.looper.com/ Like us → https://facebook.com/loopermoviestv/ Follow us → https://twitter.com/looper Instagram → https://instagram.com/looperhq/ Vine → https://vine.co/looperhq Looper is the go-to source for the movies, TV shows and video games we all love. Comments

  1. 1.The security was already explained in the movie damnit, no knowledge is forbidden, only certain practices. the loose chains as you said could have just been decor.
    2. Coincidence duh
    3. Similiar to 1. they only took the book away because they didnt want him to use the rituals in the book. Wearing the eye was no problem as long as he put it back before leaving the library after looking at it gaining knowledge or whatever. It just so happened that it was blown up before he could return it.
    4. How is this a plot hole
    5. The cloak has a mind of it's own, idk
    6. It was said in the movie. The London sanctum was the first to be blown up, causing strange to be flung into the new york sanctum. After chasing Strange and the ancient one out after the fight, they probably went back and damaged the new york sanctum before heading to the hong kong one
  2. before watching this, you guys are nitpickers, buzzkills, and acolytes of the dark dimension!
  3. I have some more plot holes for you. Fair warning to anyone too butthurt about having a movie they love ruined, but my friends didn't like that I dared to say something negative about it so given that this is YouTube a warning is necessary.

    - If the crisis involving Kaecilius was a big problem, then why didn't the Ancient One or any of the masters pursue him? It takes several months for the guy to make a move. In that time span, the so-called defenders of Earth could have been tracking him down or building more defenses.

    - Kaecilius was with the Ancient One and other masters for years, right? So, why does he need the pages from the book to find a way to bring him here? Shouldn't he know about what has to be done for Dormammu to show up at Earth? By the time Strange uses the Eye of Agamotto, Kaecilius' plans involve destroying the sanctums so Dormammu can appear. It's a very simplistic answer to the mystery of the pages being stolen.

    - So, is it magic or what? What is the source of their power? They dance around the idea of magic when Strange inquires about it being magic by saying things like, "That's one way of looking at it" or "You could say that" or "In simple terms, that is what we do". Light, energy, and shaping reality are the only explanations they give, but hardly suffice for a Doctor Strange movie. Just say it's magic.

Have a problem that a highly acclaimed film like Doctor Strange is being critiqued negatively? Too bad because I don't care. I do love most of the in-house Marvel movies, but this one had serious problems.
  4. the well trained sanctum guardian master was easily killed by kaecilius (or whatever), and the just noob doctor could stand against kaeciiu.
  5. Biff Tannen, is now our president.
  6. The cape will simply get penetrated if it tried to block the attack.
The cape did help Strange when he was fighting with Kaecilius in the dust.
You people really need to learn to watch a movie.
  7. These aren't plot holes! Not all of them anyway.
  8. this was a big let down, i'll probably give it a 5-10
  9. Eye,oh my-
You dumb guys watch the movie again.
There was no time to return the eye.
  10. With the sanctums, it actually makes a lot of sense to have more than you need from a practical standpoint. Of course too many would be difficult to manage, so one extra seems sensible. Maybe a fourth one at most.
  11. Most of those points are not plot holes.
  12. I so need to be Dr. Strange!
  13. An another thing that bother me is the "password gag".
What do they need a password for? Who can steal their wi-fi?
Also, Strange isn't there to update his facebook profile, he shouldn't be allowed to use Internet in first place.
Do they give the password to every new guest the very first day, even when he don't ask for it?
...and don't they see any possible consequence?
"Hi guys! LoL, It came out it was real !1! Found the magic temple, check here the location on Google map YOLO"

    BETMARK
  14. There were no Plot Holes.

The Artifacts select the mages, not vice versa. Remember?

Everything else is explainable by magic or part of a goog told storyline. It would have been a less than half fun movie with a well prepared Dr. Strange or a cloak that could protect him perfectly.
  15. This video has brought to you by Haters & DC fanboys
  16. Yea "Plot holes"
  17. Hate this film for ruining the MCU. Now you have this dumb magic where everyone is a ghost and can come back from the dead creating a meaningless narrative where nothing matters and you can just reverse time/death at any convenience. Now there's no longer any tension or care for what happens next.
  18. You actually have no idea what a plot hole is do you?

    1. They explained in the movie that the books were not secured because no knowledge is forbidden, only actions.
    2. That isn't a plot hole. A contrivance maybe but that isn't the same thing. Plot holes are breaks in the in movie logic or inconsistencies. A very unlikely coincidence doesn't qualify.
    3. See #2. They attacked right after the found him using the Eye. A contrivance is NOT A PLOT HOLE DAMNIT.
    4. Not fully explaining or fleshing out a concept is also not a plot hole. Perhaps they are saving the consequences of time travel for Thor Ragnarok or Dr. Strange 2 or any other movie Strange might appear in. Just because it didn't wrap up a concept into a pretty little package for you doesn't make it a plot hole.
    5. Again not a plot hole. The cape has some sentience, the movie doesn't care to explain any of its motivations or the extent of its sentience. Why is that an issue? Why is that a plot hole?
    6. Congratulations you found one potential plot hole out of a video that claimed 6 of them.

    garbage channel
  19. These aren't plot holes. These are just 6 things that could be explained with extra dialogue to the movie.
  20. 1. Ancient one claims no knowledge is forbidden, but it isn't for everyone so those chains are there as a sign to go away (not a plot hole)
    2. Coincidence, ever heard of that? (not a plot hole)
    3. I'll give you that, but also not a plot hole
    4. Um, yes u did. You didn't know exactly the probability of said things happening, but they were said (not a plot hole)
    5. Maybe the cloak understands that strange doesn't enjoy it doing stuff on its own as seen earlier (not a plot hole)
    6. Directly stated NY fell (not a plot hole)
