Are you making these 6 social media mistakes? This video will help you avoid these big social media fails! Social media such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, and more are part of life, and social media is here to stay. Aaron Marino of alpha m. tries to help you to avoid social media mistakes. Social media is part of your personal brand. Don't make a permanent mistake. 1. Impulsive posting - you must think through before posting because repercussions can reek havoc on your life. Pause before posting. 2. Talking about taboo topics such as religion and politics - you can't change anyone's mind. You only can change people's view of you so don't talk about your personal views unless you understand you are going to alienate people. 3. TMI - too much information! Some people post too much personal information about themselves and harm can come if your privacy settings aren't in check. Some things should be kept private. 4. Accepting everyone's friend request - people lie so be careful. 5. Being offensive and inappropriate things - avoid posting vulgar things. Try the test: would you show your 87 year old grandmother? 6. Confusing personal and professional profiles - separate the two.

Comments

  1. When in doubt post a dick-pic.

  4. yo alpha i dont use facebook or any other social site.
  5. Unfortunately, social media is a great way to obtain information about people's personal business.

As a general rule, NEVER NEVER EVER post anything personal on social media! As it was said in the video, you never know who's reading it, and what agenda they have.

Plus, what business is it of anyone's what your personal thoughts and opinions are? Most of your friends on social media are really just strangers - casual aquaintences at best - and as a general rule if you don't want something to be repeated, don't share it in the first place.

What business is it of anyone's where you go, what you see, or what you do? And if people ask you about something personal, before you EVER answer them, ask yourself: "Why do they want, or need, to know?"

The first President of the United States of America, George Washington, a man who lived long before social media was even an idea, once said: "Be friendly toward all, but intimate with few; and let those few be tried and true before you take them into your confidence."
  6. I use Facebook as a news hub and that's it. People get so mad at me for not commenting and/or replying to their comments and such, like their feelings actually get hurt lol it's so funny.
  7. What can I post?
  8. (ahem) "social" media

  10. uhhm. well i always accept ppl. if they want to tell me something or they think i look good and want to give me a compliment or just need friends. il accept. not only judging py the persons picture. but if the guy/girl is annoying or anything like this. il block or delete
  11. you could get robbed if you say you're going on holiday
  12. running away from religion and politics is UnAlpha. Its sometimes necessary when facing serious social issues. if you dont like it, be a grown up and ignore it.

I can understand in your instance if you run a business and the PC crowd wants you bankrupted for differing beliefs. But there comes a time where you gotta stand up for your beliefs and many times their immoral plans against you will backfire. #chickfila
