Second drift of the morning... First bass of the season! On this trip, we were doing some scouting for some upcoming charters and found what we were looking for! This monster striped bass ended up weighing over 74 pounds!

  1. Releasing allows the genes to pass on to future generations.
  2. COME ON MANNNNNNNNNNN.
  3. Congrats

Hell I thought my 15 lber was huge but man that just insane
  4. Get him on his way? Don't kid yourself, that fish died. Stripers are super sensitive...even to minor stressors. After a hard battle and then keeping that fish out of the water like that, that fish is ad good ad dead. I'd guarantee it. Im currently studying fishery biology and I've heard some of the stories about how difficult it is to farm raise stripers. One of my professors literally killed every single one of a colleague's striped bass in a culture system because he cleaned the tanks and forgot to add salt which the stripers need when stressed. They have an odd physiological response to stress that I can exactly remember the details of but trust me when I say they're fragile. I'd be surprised if that fish swam off and even if it did, that means nothing. A fish will swim off and die. Happens all the time. If that fish swam away he would have shown it anyways.
  5. I live in California and used to catch fish close to 50 lbs. , but that was then and can barely find a fish over 15 lbs. anymore due to people not educating themselves about the importance of catch & release. very sad!!
  6. nice fish
  7. I've caught many of them with nets. The biggest was 81 pounds full of eggs. The fish was no more than 60 pounds max. Nine to ten inches longer? You know you fight that fish and really should not take it out of the water at all. Run 300 feet and stick your head under water and see how long you can hold your breath.
  8. It was a big fish I think u added some inches to it
  9. Boat fish Don't count 😂😂
    Nice catch though
  10. nice jc
  11. I must say great great job releasing that fish. A fish of that size deserves to go back into the wild.
  12. if they get that big they deserve to keep living, thank you
  13. If that fish hit 55lbs be happy ☺. And definitely not 57 inches, don't put it by the measuring tape if you're going to exaggerate like that. on the tape you can see 47 and 48 inch mark and there is no way that fish has 10 extra inches.
  14. Very casual getting that fish boat side. We would of had that net down the second that thing got with in reach. Beautiful fish and nice release!!How do figure 74lbs. We have caught fish to 52" in montauk to 57lbs. Maybe 60
  15. What kind of rod and reel
  16. Very large bass. Honestly it didn't look 70 lbs...I'm sure it was 60 or better but not 74
  17. That fish has got to be over 35 pounds. Big one! Weird to see you lie about that weight though!
  18. what is that rod
  19. Don't short yourself man. That thing looked like 75lb lol. Nice catch!
  20. fake
