9 funny ways pirates got trolled by developers

Without gamers paying for games or extra content, developers will cease to exist. Some developers have come up with very cheeky ways to punish those who illegally download their games. Here are the 9 examples of developers trolling game pirates! 1. Michael Jackson: The Experience Ubisoft made Michael Jackson: The Experience, a rhythm game based on the legendary king of pop. While normal players could enjoy his biggest hits, pirates got something completely different. The game didn't show button prompts, it would freeze when paused and the pirate would hear the annoying sound of a vuvuzela. That's serious punishment in our book! 2. Crysis Warhead Crysis is all about being a bad-ass who shoots enemies. But not with a pirated copy of the game. Developer Crytek replaced bullets with chickens that did no damage at all. On top of that all these chickens would make the game extremely slow. The only way to actually beat the game, would be by punching your way to victory. 3. Grand Theft Auto IV Our friends at Rockstar Games have also been quite creative with their anti-piracy policy. If you would download a pirated copy of GTA 4, the camera would be shaking all over the place and the cars would be nearly uncontrollable. The shaky cam would really make you feel nauseous. That will teach those dirty pirates! 4. The Sims 4 A popular pc game like The Sims 4 is always subject to lots of piracy. In The Sims 4 the developers have added a funny way to annoy pirates. Do you remember the blurred image when you go to the shower or the toilet? Well, if you go to the toilet in an illegal version of The Sims 4, your entire screen will become blurred. And will stay like that forever! That's a way to destroy the fun! 5. Batman: Arkham Asylum In Batman: Arkham Asylum the developers trolled pirates by nerfing one of the key abilities in the game. The developer weakened the gliding of Batman which caused a serious problem for the caped crusader. It made it impossible to reach key locations in the game. That's a subtle way to troll pirates for sure! 6. Serious Sam 3: Before the First Encounter The Serious Sam franchise is known for its over the top action and crazy enemies. We all know those suicide bombers, right? The pirated copy of Serious Sam 3 had an even more dangerous enemy in the form of a pink spider. This thing was unbeatable and would kill pirates over and over again. People complaining about the pink spider on forums sure made a fool of themselves. 7. Mirror's Edge Fighting the system is a central theme in Mirror's Edge, but that doesn't mean the developers want you to pirate their game. If you play a pirated version of Mirror's Edge it's likely you never made the first jump. Because every time you run up to a jump... Faith slows down. It's like she's too scared to jump in the pirated version. 8. Spyro: Year of the Dragon Spyro is one of the games we would never expect to have funny piracy protection. In the beginning of the game a fairy tells you are playing a hacked version and some key items might be missing which makes it very hard to play. If you do reach the final boss, the game will crash and delete your save file. That cute little dragon is cruel to pirates! 9. Game Dev Tycoon Game Dev Tycoon has the best anti-piracy measure in gaming. In this game you need to manage a video game development studio. Develop a game, earn money by selling it and slowly become market leader. Gamers who play a pirated version of Game Dev Tycoon will see their developed games inside the game get pirated as well and eventually go bankrupt. That's an ironic way of teaching those pirates a lesson! Do you think it's a good thing developers add piracy protection to their game? 5. hahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!! I love reading posts posted by pirates complaining about issues in the games. its like pirates can steal, download, share, and play pirated copys of games, and then they have the nerve to complain about the issues in it. and devs are like "oh no, that was put in the game intentionally. its not a bug, but if you want to remove it, why don't you go buy the full version? :P" keep it up plz.

  7. My case with the Spyro game was cruel. I'm not from an English-speaking country, so when I was 8, I bought my copy outside of my school, from a vendor that selled these copies, I played all the way through Spyro and then *it happened*. I was so confused, because I barely read any dialogue box cause, duh, at that age I barely knew any english. I tried to clear it again and I ran into the same surprise, I just went off crying to my mom. At least I found the Platinum Version a couple years ago, at the age of 15. The waiting was long.
