1. Georg luger was an Austrian who designed 9x19mm and I have not seen the kurtz ammo here in the western part of Europe. maybe it's popular in the eastern part of Europe. the most popular pistol ammo here is 9x19mm or cal 22 where I am.

   I dont know for the others europeans countries, but in France 9mm refers to 9x19.
   Actually .380 is not very popular in shooting ranges.
   I shoot for 17 years and I only saw one or two guys with .380 walther PPK.

10. to add to the confusion there's lots of calibers expressed as nine millimeter followed by either and Metric link value or a name myself I have 9 millimeter Parabellum nine millimeter Largo and 9 millimeter Makarov all have at least two other names such is the way of things.
11. Yes. the .380 cartridge ( 9mm short) is weaker in power compared to the 9mm parabellum but we aren't using it to hunt rhinos. Human beings are pretty delicate, it doesn't take too much to kill. Statistics show that most gun fights occur well within a few yards and even s few feet. Accuracy and bullet placement are more important. With a low recoiling round like the .380, it's a little easier to stay on target & offer additional shots if needed.

13. So it's penetration people are talking about? The .380 is vastly easier to conceal and is more than adequate as a PD weapon. I wouldn't take it to war, but then again I'd carry no handgun into a CZ.
    All you people talking about 45's .....get that second shot on target when the paper silhouette you're used to practicing on is moving, firing back and your heart rate is triple its normal rate. I'd be more than willing to bet your Xbox training fails you when shit meets fan.
14. Bought a .380 two years ago...too small for my hands. Today I got my 9 mm Ruger in the mail and love it although haven't shot it. did much research and feel this will be the permanent gun for me: concealment, stopping power, seven rounds in the clip..

16. You explained on the drywall 9mm v .380 test that your wife has a 380. Why did yall decide on a .380 for her and not a 9mm? For the oversize of the weapon- smaller hands, concealability, etc?
17. As for your PX symbol, it has many uses and I see it in to many religious circles.
    What a war of words ya'll wage and rage. It is all so personal preference and to each his own.
    All I need is a good make of .380 for cycling, backpackin and general self defence. However if I purchase a 9mm at a low price, I will take it and hope it's a light weight that is not so full of mass. A .38 revolver would do the trick and the ammo is cheap. Ammo will be the consideration and there are many choices today. Thanks to Ya'll and your opinions were very helpful.
18. most attacks happen at close range. Love my LCPII for a all around conceal carry. I have full confidence in it.
19. I'll take 9mm over .380 anytime anywhere. 9mm is cheaper more powerful an more reliable an every .380 I've ever owned has been finicky at best.
