Self filmed Video of a Big Buck getting killed on a small property in southern Michigan. Michigan deer hunting at it's best. This buck earned first place from Commemorative Bucks of Michigan as the largest Michigan buck in the crossbow category. WWW.EXTREMEDEERHABITAT.COM Michigan deer hunting can be extremely tough if you want to kill a big buck. This video shows the killing of a huge Michigan 8 point buck that gross green scored at 153 inches as an 8 point. This deer was a stranger on my property but I surely have the members of the QDM deer co-operative in my area, call the Bean Creek co-op. Earlier this year my friend and neighbor Luke shot the main target buck in our area called the Big 6 because he had been a 6 point for the previous two years. When he died on October 22nd this year, killed with Luke's compound bow, he was a 267 lb. 8 point that green scored at 133 inches. My property is sandwiched between the properties of two very serious deer hunters and has fantastic deer habitat. It included natural and man made bedding using hinge cutting techniques, and lots of food is distributed on all three properties. I do not believe it would be possible for me to have harvested this buck without my co-op neighbors showing restraint on harvesting young bucks for the last several years. Because I use extreme scent control, and have great deer habitat, this buck was perfectly comfortable to be out and about in daylight. He was double lunged from about 12-15 yards with my Stryker Solution LS 390 crossbow. He ran for 21 seconds and about 100 yards before dying, which I was able to catch on video. Within a minute after he fell, another shooter buck walked through the grass field he died in about 40 yards beyond him. I want to thank my QDM co-op neighbors and the Quality Deer Management Association - QDM for the help and inspiration to work towards the goal of harvesting a mature buck on my small property. This was a monster buck when you consider he had only 8 points but green scored at 153 5/8th inches. Much of that score came from mass measurements. He had almost 40 inches of mass. In fact, even the last measurement at the end of the rack was over 4 inches on each side. He was scored by Commemorative Buck's of Michigan (CBM) official scorer Jake Ehlinger.
