Arizona's "Flathead Ed" & His Record Catfish



Eddie "Flathead Ed" Wilcoxson owns the state record for the heaviest fish ever caught in Arizona. In the early morning hours of April 12, 2013, he caught a 76.54 lb. flathead catfish at Bartlett Lake. This video was created by the Information Branch of the Arizona Game and Fish Department. Fresh water freight trains I was able to hook one in September of 13 I've been fishing for over thirty years and let me tell you this fish had my whole upper body on fire my forearms were so tired on third run out I almost handed the rod over to my uncle to finish him off the fish only weighted 34 pounds but caught like no other the bluegills were Higón the shorelines that night at Bartlett lake in Arizona I think they knew that bruser was on the prowl feeding in the depts!!!

  13. I just cought a 89lb flathead at lake pleasant they wouldn't accept the fish for record because I hooked it on the tail lol

  19. You don't need 50lb braid for big cats. Check out the missouri river catfish videos. Most of our big boys up here in the midwest are caught on 20-30lb mono in super heavy current under rough conditions. Its alllllll about drag and taking your time.
  20. They prolly only bite when your sleeping because walking around on that boat makes tons of noise
