  1. Flavia Saraiva is the first gymnastics in Brazil to qualify in beam event final and finished 5th.
  2. So proud of Ellie for breaking a Canadian record! Bravo to all these gymnast also breaking records! :D
  3. love the video but i wish it showed why they broke an olympic record.
  4. I thought that Ariella Kaslin was the first Switz female gymnast to win a medal back in 2009 with a silver on vault
  5. Sanne weverss❤
  6. what about ariana orrego from peru and isabella amado from panama? they also are the first gymnasts from their countries to compete at the olympics
  7. Dipa was the first from her country. to see her performing the Prudonova vault is amazing enough...but many don't know she didn't have proper coaching, training facilities or equipment for a very long time and basically taught herself thru watching videos!!! I was so thrilled to see how far she came!! (I am not insulting or taking away from others at all, I just don't know many of their backgrounds). India must be very proud. but she also caught a lot of slack for the leotard :(
  8. Wasn't Aliya Mustafina the first Russian to win back to back all around medals?
  9. I love Houry Gebeshian's mount. It's not that difficult, but just shows a bit more originality than normal.
  10. Thank you for doing this video! Many people don't understand how difficult it is for under represented countries to get good training, coaches and facilities to compete. Toni Anne Williams had the luck of being born in the US to Jamaican parents, which made her eligible to compete for that country as well as receiving a scholarship to University of California. Dipa Karmakar is sponsored by the Go Sports Foundation. European gymnasts are lucky in that their parents don't have to pay exorbitant fees for them to participate while US gymnasts' parents have to file for bankruptcy as they can't pay the $15,000 to $30,000 boarding and training fees. It's very pricey. Hopefully, the US will have a state run system, where the government gives stipends to its most gifted athletes.
  11. Beautiful montage, giving us the chance to see wider diversity of great gymnasts not shown on tv this Summer !
