  1. the largest that you are able to use with skill and be able to hit your target.
not all rounds can kill 2mm pinfire and 4mm largo are unable to even kill a mouse.
    You forgot the 38 s&w, 38 special, 357 sig, 45 gap, 45 schofield, 45 colt.
  2. Jedi laser Gun !  have a 1892 British Sabre just in case you drain down the batteries and have to revert to ground fighting ! Entertain me , please !
  3. the best caliber is the one that's more likely to stop an intruder with one shot without hitting a vital area.
  4. I like the 357 sig or 9mm 38 super
  5. Where can i get that same fn 5.7??😔
  6. No matter what from a 22 to a S&W 500 Mag. It's not what you can afford to shoot or what is more comfortable for you you need a firearm that will take down a freak on PCP So the 454, 500 is your best bet. Yes they are more expensive to buy and shoot but we're talking about your life and the life of your family. 22's are great accurate weapons at close and far range shooting from pistils to the 10-22 They are more powerful with the correct rounds then people think, Usually two in the head will stop a freak. However a 500 Mag will do it with one round. If you had a choice from a rifle when someone is in your yard or maybe a few guys coming to break in and your silent alarm goes off would you want a 22 or a 50 cal barret? If your in bed and all of a sudden out of no where someone is standing over you? What would you want? At my bedside I keep a 45 ACP under my pillow for fast access always one in the hole and a full magazine. So yes he makes a point that a firearm you can be comfortable with and get very good with is important. But knock down power is also very important. Then you have Revolvers VS Pistols. Revolvers are more reliable then most semi auto pistols that jam and in a fight or flight situation a jam could mean that one second that cost you your life. 8 round S&W model 327 or larger frame revolvers in 357 mag. are the best.
  7. 40mm for close range.
    80mm for mid range.
    160mm long range.
  8. The best in my mind is the 357 Sig with some Underwood ammo. How it didn't make the list is beyond me.
  9. 9mm and up. More importantly a weapon you can hit a target with. Personally I have Sig 45 & 40 that I need to aim with. My 38 Spec revolver Is like part of my hand, I hit whatever I look at with it while barely even trying. I'd take the 38 over my 45 any day in 90% of fights. Even though I've put 5x more rounds thru the 40's and 45's I have.
  10. No .38 spl ? Lol
  11. 9 and 10mm will be obsolete soon because of the new advent of FN's 5.7
  12. 9mm or even 10mm, .45acp doesnt penetrate newer body armors.. they're profit based product. They aren't good for true self defense anymore in my opinion.. that being because of the new integration of strong body armor fibers.. no problem for a 5.7x28 FN round though
  13. the 5.7x28 is the best for self defense because when shot from an FN five seven is goes through steel easily and even Kevlar armor quite easily, and not to mention, it holds 20 rounds or 16 in the cheaper versions... nuff said
  14. 00 buck shot !!!!
  15. Unnecessary high caliber ammunition is the best self defense. If entire parts of the human body are missing I wouldn't consider that human much of a threat.
  16. personally I prefer the 22lr. light recoil, allows you to keep it on point in a high stress sitituation. a 22 is gonna do the job if needed. plus super cheap to practice with. I have a gsg firefly (sig mosquito) yes I had to do some work. Polish feed ramp. that fixed all the "problems" people had with this line. I shoot hyper veloicty 1400fps+ to keep it super sonic down range out of a 4 in barrel. Aguila interceptor, (1470 rated fps) as my carry ammo , you can find it at most "bulk ammo " online stores. and stellar and bellot hv lead hallow points (1225 fps) for accuracy and practice. gonna be testing cci copper soon. rated 1850 fps. I'm for-seeing feed problems because of pressure. any way that's my thoughts. good vid :-)
  17. No 44 special or 45 colt?,mostly handgun caliber's,i still prefer number(4/00)Buckshot.Handgun 44 special/45colt or 45 acp.
  18. If I'm not mistaken, you're somewhere in south, yes? One thing I'd mention... Hornady Critical Duty/Critical Defense with the plastic plug is desirable up here in WI where denim and particularly wool with high density can REALLY snag open hollow points. I've talked to an ER/Trauma surgeon who's into guns who says he's seen a .40 not penetrate the sternum of a guy wearing a wool coat with wool sweater underneath. Who'd have imagined it's as effective as kevlar? Now we're going to see bank robbers dressed for sub-zero in Miami... LOL
  19. Wasn't the FBI using the latest in hollow point tech with 10mm when they had problems with pass-through injuries or kills? I love the stopping power, but for carry outside the home... I choose a 9. I know I can place 3-5 shots FAST with a 9. I'm 'likely' to do a triple tap to the chest/cardio triangle on primary, scan for secondary and return with 2-3... or MORE if primary is still coming. (Said another way: If that MF is too stupid to not stop, he's not getting that choice again.) And yeah, I DO like to tuck my S&W .357 stubby in my pocket at times. 5 shots just feels too few in today's world. And yes, The Judge is a fun gun to shoot but again in public... I don't want shot flying all over.
  20. Much more important than caliber is the form of ammunition. Ask any military field medic or ER trauma surgeon. They will tell you that a 9mm with a state of the art Hornady Critical Duty/Defense hollow point is far more lethal and a .40 Full Metal Jacket. The former will spin and shred organs where the latter will pass right through leaving one hole.

So the question of "caliber" is moot. Tell people to find the gun that is most practical to carry... based on concealment, weather, what they can shoot accurately... COMPLETELY DISREGARDING the caliber. THEN choose the most effective ammunition.

You know your stuff... please consider re-doing the video and making it about the ammo.
