Best Horde Defense V4 - Day 28 Test (7 Days to Die: Alpha 14) - GSBS

G tests out the latest revision of horde defense for day 28. The pit is back (only for the dogs) at a 20 block depth and there are a few changes. The base was completed because running zombies would find their way in if there were no walls. We hope you enjoy the latest revision, and if you would like to see how this was built be sure to leave a comment :) Wondering how some of our previous beats were made? This is what we used - http://goo.gl/r1jJCq We have Patreon setup now and we would greatly appreciate it if you could help support us in making these videos. We can be found here Http://patreon.com/GSBS We now have twitter setup! You can follow us there for status updates that are hard to post on YouTube (such as: Status updates, if there are delays, maybe some rescheduling etc.) http://www.twitter.com/GamingSBS Also our gameplay channel is now live! (We are going to be reworking this article soon to match with the latest A14 updates.) http://7daystodie.gamepedia.com/Survival_Guide_-_Alpha_13 Coming soon will be a video series that will go along with this guide, displaying our approach to surviving the desolate wasteland.

  1. I would LOVE to know how you built this base, step by step, if you ever have the time to sit down and create a video...

I would also like to know how well plants grow in an underground bunker?

    Thanks in advance...
  2. Good concept. I'd like to see how you build that in 28 days...
  3. 33:30 looks like he's fucking the nurse hahha
  4. I made a above ground base on day 27 for the 28 day horde on modern zombies(survival mode) and didn't use a quarter of the materials you did your base concept is cool but defense is not so good if I spent that much time making a base I'd be able to tend my garden on horde night and not worry about a thing
  5. Lol, I love all this... genius... players... or youtubers... making the "perfect base", "perfect strategy" and shit on creative mode. I don't know, just think it's very funny... and pointless
  6. your voice makes me wanna kill myself
  7. you cheated pretty much half of the work you did there, in 28 days you wont make this without creative
  8. 3 scrap iron makes one pressure plate at 3000 health. multilayered breaking: 1000, 1000, 500 etc
  9. do ferals not get in there?
  10. have to take care of spiderzombies even they are dumb
  11. And what was the difficulty this was set up on?
  12. crops grow under earth, about 10 blocks deep with light through transp. blocks, atleast on my nitrado that is
  13. I didn't know you could stack a farm like that. Crops still grow?
  14. Make vertical gaps with 1/4 blocks and stand on a block and a half so you line up with their heads instead of their legs.
  15. have you had problems with structural integrity? all that dirt must stretch things a bit, though metal trussing is pretty strong, though I noticed one of the lower floors didn't have any internal support pillars. would you say that your building is about as big as it can be? I like the added shapes, I've been using posts a lot myself for about the same reason as the plates, though i feel they offer more visibility for reaching. and yeah, cement or better, adobe/cobblestone is way too flimsy for hoarde defenses.
  16. Wow, that's quite a clear view of the battle area. My current design uses steel pillars 50, 3 of them on top of each other, so I can shoot their heads clean. But yours provides a clear field of view, so it might be superior ! Oh nvm, crawlers get through :(. Maybe use log spikes instead of simple spikes and repair those !

How to block the crawlers 100% with your design: replace the bottom row of plates with concrete posts, placed horizontally ! They will block the view of the floor, a little bit, but even the crawlers keep their heads above the horizontal posts.

An even better idea, is to remove the concrete floor UNDER the spike area, use posts - horizontally, as flooring and add the spikes on top of that. Zombies can't dig down, but you can loot them cleanly from underneath, between the posts, and shoot them as well, while being totally 100% safe (replace bottom layer of plates with something else more hardy, like horizontal posts or pillars).
  17. an example of a weak defense btw
  18. hi,can i ask how deep must it be for zombies to far to death?
  19. i would like to know some dimensions and how you made the tower, new subscriber here an i like the look of what you done here. I would love to work with fires as they look cost effective and like they work well except they are hard on the computer with all the particles etc
