  1. Is this really based based on the official selling figures ? Just one song of Pink Floyd, no Deep Purple, no Eagles on a n° 1 spot that sold more than Garry Glitter, Father Abraham selling better than several Abba songs, no Sultans of Swing, no Stealers Wheel, no Supertramp, Kate Bush nor Dust in the wind etc... Quite surprising, maybe more about what is not in that top 100 than what's in it, even though the specific order within the top 100 too is quite surprising. Several non-English or American songs, including Father Abraham, Boney M, Baccara, quite a lot of disco (gosh, how ridiculous that Olivia Newton John/ John Travolta movie was, am I glad I never gave money to such crap).
  2. Was that Lee Marvin? That one was embarrassing.
  3. no sex pistols?
  4. A most excellent video from my era, featuring many people who are sadly no longer with us.
Lennie Peters for one, where is Di Lee nowadays??

  6. Were we ever really that young? Man, I feel so old, but thanks for this trip down memory lane. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.

Now, where did I leave my brown cords and paisley shirt?
  7. Put names of groups on
  8. kinda where around the 50s.
  9. This is a you-beaut list. Would have been a better list with a caption for each hit stating the song title and artist? The above Wikipedia list does not list all 100 in this clip.
  10. no Rolling Stones?!!
  11. It is expected that British or European acts would show up more frequently in the UK charts than they did in the US charts, but what is strange is to see American acts chart higher in the UK than they did in the US.
  12. T.REX best band of the 70s without a doubt
  13. love all these songs but I can't help but think this is why punk kicked in
  14. 70's had many good ones... but most were so cheesy, really the tv producers and stablishment was dictators in bad taste eww
  15. Number one is always an embarrassment. Why did so many people buy it?
  16. I got 98. I couldn't remember who sang Mississipi and Without you.
  17. wow wouldn't it be lovely to get those times back. I loved growing up in the 70s and I miss my chopper.
  18. Three for T.REX....my favourite band.
  19. That was kinda hard to believe... :)
  20. BRILLIANT.....
