Biggest Ala Moana surf in 10 years

This was today, August 30th 2011 and it was the biggest swell on the South Shore in about 10 years. This was all shot at Ala Moana.    I grew up in Kapahulu; surfed the South Shore... "back in the day" (early 70's); my older bro was the better surfer & athlete... but Ah, I enjoyed my days out in the emerald green surf of Waikiki
   
   ...Currently living in the Bay Area where it's too cold to consider returning to the water, waves & wonder of surfin goofy...
   
   yah... I'm too old & too chicken to restart up hea!
   
   my shout-out 2u is 2-fold:
   
   1st: to applaud you for solid vids of surf sessions back home...
   
   it brings back coo-memz of surfing South Shore sunrise to sunset with a peanut butter jelly sandwich squeezed in between our all-day surf sessions...
   
   2nd: Im requesting for the privilege to use selected segments of your sessions for a short video that promotes a character I created over 20-years ago: CHURCHBOY...
   
   He is a cartoon character that I am re-launching here in Cali & also there on Oahu...
   
   we would use a few scenes of guys getting barreled on big days at "Bowls"... and infuse comedic dramatization with a real-life-look-alike CHURCHBOY... a young college kid who has the face & build of our character
   
   it will present humor & the Gospel message via "spittin-pidgin" from back-when-we-was growing up in KAPAHULU & all the good times growing up on the Rock... in post-production we will add proper English audio-subtitles to accompany the local-action
   
   this short-vid, when completed, will be used to share the incredible offer God has made to every man & woman...

6. Kewalows is a different break and is about 10 breaks west from Ala Mo and does not EVER HOLD this big ...ever. This was the biggest town swell in ten years. We got one almost this big this summer.
7. um i surfed kewalo's (ala moana) much bigger than that like 4 years ago
8. Youre an idiot sewage was diverted into the canal to prevent it from backing up into the houses and hotels in the area and the sewage spill was 10 times bigger then what you stated. Had it not been dumped the damage would have been much bigger and the damage to the ocean would have still been the same since the overflow would still go into the ocean.

15. Yeah it was actually perfect 6ft hawaiin. Day before my bday and it was cleaner and better just not those bigger sets coming through. It was still pretty solid though
