4. For full-range speaker cabinets, I would go Baltic Birch all day. For subwoofers, you need 3/4 MDF. I had a Carvin LS1801 subwoofer made from 3/4 Baltic Birch & was not impressed with the bass response. Bought a Yamaha SW118 subwoofer which is made from 3/4 MDF and it sounds so much better!

Hey i got question even though right now ive got pathetic system in s10 ext cab xtreme just 2-10"s that i just got to replace my old re audio sxx with mtx 1501d and best spl was a 139db but the soundqubed hds200 ive had a week and they dont hit certain notes and dont sound right almost like distortion but during song it hits other notes clean and will viberate windshield wipers a little.. could they just need broke in? have u messed with sq to know if other have had similar or same issue? 10. I thought mdf was useful because of its frequency resonance properties. Strength is less important. How does a mdf box sound vs plywood box?
