The fastest recorded baseball pitch was clocked at 108 mph, or 48 m/s with the 141 gram ball. That is a whopping 162 Joules, or 119 ft-lb. More than the most powerful compound hunting bows can muster. A baseball is very hard, much tougher than any air filled ball. It has huge damage potential. Enough of a challenge for us here at The Slingshot Channel to test if it can be lethal! So we converted the football launcher to accept baseballs instead, and increased the rubber strength until we hit those 108 mph. Then we tested the impact against an archery mat, a plank of particle board, and ultimately against a block of ballistic gelatin. Next, we tested what would happen if that same world record pitcher throws an iron boule ball instead. The much heavier and harder projectile flies slower of course, but the impact is outright devastating. A "The Slingshot Channel" production!.
