Chris Kimbrough - Beer Mile World Record

Austin, TX-based Chris Kimbrough runs the beer mile on November 2, 2014 in 6:28, shattering the previous women's world record of 6:42, which had stood for 17 years. NOTE: For Licensing please contact licensing(at)fullscreen.com A few details about Chris and her accomplishment: 1) She is 44 years old. 2) She is the mother of 6 children, ranging in age from 17 months to 16 years. None were present for the event. 3) Her husband Doug is the guy keeping time and handing her the beers. Her father, Roger Masters, mentions that he has "brought the bail money" at 0:35, and is shown at 2:57. 4) She's an accomplished elite runner - with several masters national championships to her credit. She qualified for the Olympic Marathon Trials in 2007 and finished 39th in the 2008 Trials, running 2:42:54 5) She likes beer (strong IPAs!), but I don't think I've never seen her drink more than two in one day/evening. 6) Prior to the attempt shown in this video, she had never tried to complete a Beer Mile. She was interested in competing in the first Beer Mile World Championship coming up in December, and simply wanted to see how she stacked up against the documented results of others. 7) Earlier in the day of this attempt, she ran 11 miles as part of her normal training routine. She ran another mile warming up right before the Beer Mile. 8) Her beer of choice for the race: Alteration Ale from Austin-based brewery Hops and Grains. (5.1% alcohol by volume) 9) The little kid on the bike does not belong to her. He was unharmed during and untraumatized by the filming of this video. 10) It was windy on Sunday afternoon...you can hear the wind blowing throughout the video. This likely added seconds to her time. 11) She did not vomit during her Beer Mile run...or afterward, as she foretells in the closing seconds of this video. 12) She's now looking forward to competing in the Beer Mile World Championships in Austin in December. Watch for the results!

  1. this is one of the most useless things ive ever seen
  2. I ran 6:28 when I was in the best shape of my life in the military and she just did while stopping for like 10 seconds and drinking 4 beers. holy smokes!
  3. Nope. DQ'd. She was in the zero lane😉
  4. Stopping to drink 3 beers and still running a 6:28 mile including those stops is impressive! Although not pure "sport" it is funny and athletic. I could run a race against her and possibly have a chance to keep up. Nice going!
  5. Она рекордсменка одновременно в двух номинациях: "пьяная миля" и долбоебизм.
  6. pointless
  7. Was it a metric mile or the American mile? The beer mile is an American event, so you have to account for the difference and start 31 back from the finish line.
  8. thanks texas
  9. Except she started drinking before the 'GO' and she wasn't emptying the cans.  You can clearly tell by the sound they make hitting the ground.  Awesome effort but not legit.
    Sorry.
  10. I'm surprised they accepted her time as official. You're supposed to turn the can upside down over your head to prove it's empty.
  11. The redneck cameraman ruined her awesome performance.
  12. Hold my beer I can do that :D
  13. From 0:01

  15. I thought she was going to drink the beer and run at the same time, not impressed =/
  16. Color me impressed
  17. i can't even finish 2 cans of beer.
  18. Not a rule, only a recommendation: "It is strongly recommended, when attempting official records, to tip the empty beercan or bottle over your head at the end of a chug to verify an empty vessel."
  19. Yeah Montana, represent!!!
