CIVILIZATION V: Babylon single city SCIENCE VICTORY Quick Guide

A quick video explaining my take on how to get to a science victory using the Babylonians, limiting yourself to a single city while the other civilizations are free to expand.

  1. I wish instead of ending the video there, you showed those primitive Egyptians just discovering gunpowder, the power of a Giant Death Robot.
  2. Making 1,500 gold a turn as Venice, I bought off all of the city-states and won via "diplomacy" once. It was pretty awesome to control the world just by having all the money. It felt super realistic.
  3. You go way too fast, the reason I watch these is for build orders, I've had to rewind and try to pause on exact moments 10 times now just in the first quarter of the video.
  4. I don't know if this would work in multiplayer though
  5. I did this but with Japan.
  6. what difficulty?
  7. Standard game speed?
  8. Great Library on Babylon seems greedy.
You have a great Science advantage, approximately +160% after Writing.
But you have no production advantage, besides buying up a Hill and the Tradition monument perk.
Anyone with production advantages, and making a better effort to use their terrain,
like cutting down trees - they're going to beat you.

Being Babylon with a +160% Science advantage,
you can study Philosophy in like 10 turns while building a normal Library in like 10 turns,
and you'll be able to start building a National College much faster than waiting for the Great Library,
Library being 50 Production and Great Library 123 Production.
Which I'll remind you, you're not distinguished to build.
You don't even have a suitable Terrain Bias, it's fucking Avoid Tundra.
Just to show you all the closed doors, and... Crevices...

Against the AI it's all good fun though, on the other hand,
it may be more fun minding the game as if it were Multiplayer.

I failed to mention that you've just wasted a lot of turns
towards building a Great Library you didn't complete - you won't even have a Library.

Lastly to express I'm not any way disinclined on-to you,
this was a pretty well-made video, and your commentary is fairly pleasant listening to.
  9. In 2000 AD my Civ just got into the Medieval Age(Civ4).....
  10. How does your border grow that big?? I thought it was only two tiles from your city?
  11. just watched this for 10 min before realizing it was pre BNW
  12. how do you get the graphics to look stylized like that?
  13. Is having only one city the best strategy? Wouldn't it be better to have 2-3? I'm so desperate b/c my friends always crush me in civ. They're always leading by at least 100 points in science and I fall behind technologically really fast. Sigh...
  14. this doesn't work on any difficulty above king maybe emperor if youre really good. the AI will always beat you to those wonders and would crush you without an army on any hard difficulties. but still fun to do no doubt
  15. Seriously how do you manage to keep up with food/gold when you focus all on sience?
  16. How does he get his first great scientist so quickly?
  17. to a brave new world... shameless advertising lol 14:31
  18. The history of this civilization. Your people discover farming and say "fuck this planet we want out."
  19. what difficulty? the games I play - going straight for great library doesn't work - ai still gets it. I play on emperor or immortal.
  20. How did he have so much science by 2:36?
