Class B RV - Queen Sized Bed in a Small Class B

Description IMO having a comfortable bed even in a small Class B RV is very important.

  1. I know this video is 2 years old but I just came across it and, though you probably have a solution already, I thought I'd share something. I have a platform bed and I have one of those foam egg-crate type mattress pads underneath the mattress to provide air-flow since there is no boxspring. That sounds like it might work well for you for both air-flow and mattress protection. It's nothing fancy, just basic convoluted foam that you can pick up on sale for probably under $20 at Kohl's or JCPenney or any store like that.
  2. Hey Dano! I thought you quit making vidieos for the last couple of weeks and thought something may have happened to you as they weren't showing up regularly in my subscriptions. So I had to look you up through the search. I think my new laptop unsubscribed. I see you made several since the last one I watched. So I am catching up now starting with this one. After all, I am one of your biggest fans... lol... Glad everything is going good. I've been busy too chucking out junk by the garbage can, garbage bags and pickups full... What's in your future plans?
  3. Next test, try making the bed of an overhead cab in a ClassC! I don't have a mattress, but the original cushions are up there. I put a sheet over that, then put a memory foam pad on top of the sheets. Covered the pad with a zip up plastic cover because I've been known to forget to close the hatch & my bed gets wet if it rains! Then I found that too hot, so got a mattress cover like you showed & put that over the pad, it was much better. I'm glad you don't flip memory foam pads! Kiek likes watching bears huh?
  4. How about a 5'x8' rug gripper under the mattress? Added benefits of providing ventilation and reducing sliding. http://www.amazon.com/Ultra-Stop-Non-Slip-Indoor-Size/dp/B003UVCWMU/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1396924448&sr=8-6&keywords=rug+gripper
  5. I need to work on flipping my mattress someday; I really think they dropped it in before they finished the cabinets and roof, because it seems really trapped.
  6. We have a mattress cover that encloses the whole queen mattress like an envelope and zips closed. but you would have to remove the mattress from your RV to put one on your mattress. It was hard enough in our class A. If we ever get another rig, we will consider twin beds. Much easier to deal with.
  7. Just a thought, I wondered if putting some carpet under the bed would be a more durable alternative
