I think another reason why Football(soccer) is more popular also is that it is a sport not an event and it combines multiple strengths/movements to perform at that level, instead of training in a single activity. That is why Ronaldo had a close timing with the 25 meter sprint. You don't need to be a biomechanic to figure all this stuff out. Most things in life are simple. You only need experience to understand things- that is where it comes back to our true limit: TIME.

6. It's kind of disturbing how he runs waving his arms like that - it's a huge mistake even when you're a high-school amateur athlete. Then again abruptly changing direction does mean waving arms around a lot, soooo it's understandable... but still, don't do it when running in a straight line. :( It's such a beginner's mistake. Actually not even many beginners make it, from what I've seen.
