notice in this video they mention haile's world record of 8:01. Does anyone have that video? I know that race was sponsored by Adidas and was awarding 1 million dollar for the winner between Haile Gebreselassie and Morceli. But the winner had to break 8 minutes and win the race.

Track and Field News published a letter that I wrote about this. My point was that they claim to be the "Bible of the Sport" (and they are) but there was virtually no coverage of this amazing athletic feat. Had Daniel Komen been White and American he would have been on the cover and they would revisit the accomplishment every annniversary.
That was very amazing..A lot of world elite athletes can barely break a 4 minutes miles and this Komen guy did it like 2 times in the same race to break the 2 miles world record..
boys aged 18 to 20 can do it in 7:35 or 40 in the British Gurkha recruitment camp

What an incredibly efficient runner! Just saw video of Mo Farah's 8:07 2 mile in Birmingham and Mo looks like he's going faster (but he's not) and he's definitely straining more. Daniel was the god amongst the gods of distance elites.
I can only do 2 miles somewhere around 10 minutes.Damn...this guy is fast
