Jetting a carb on a dirt bike can be daunting, but it nets some of the biggest performance gains of any upgrade. As we all know, the settings from the factory aren't quite 'optimal'. Luckily, fixing that is easily remedied with a Jet Kit and a bit of time in the garage.   3. I'm having trouble with my yz250f as soon as I hit the throttle there is a 3-4 second hesitation before the power hits making it impossible to get power straight out of the gate any idea what to do with the jets? Go up or down in size? Please help
  4. Hello Steve and Bike Bandit... I just replaced my 12.1piston with a 13.1 piston. My question is, do I need to do any re-jetting to compensate for the increase in compression?
  5. I just put a 300 big bore kit on my Yamaha raptor 250 I'm at sea level in Florida. I'm adding an exhaust as well. When tuning to support the new mods besides jet and needle adjustments should changes to float position be made as well? Or just checked for proper timing as per usual?
  6. i just bought a 05 ktm 400 exc it ran fine when I test drove it. now most of the time it bogs/ back fires at half to full throttle and pops when I let off the gas. It seams to help if i roll on the gas slowly. When in natural and I snap the throttle it bogs but if I roll it on it revs fine. but the other day it was running good it stll poped on deceleration about 15 min. Into riding it started boging again. I cleaned the carb twice before then it has all the srock jets srock exhaust and the guy I bought it from just had it cleaned before putting it up for sale. I think the bike was siting a while befor e he sold it judging by rust on the brake rotors ect. The air filter is not dirty

  10. I have a 2006 kx 85 and it won't start I have gotten new plugs 3 cleaned the carb new air filter new reeds and it still won't start
  11. Now if I give it gas it make a loud popping and seem like its about to cut off when I have the throttle back 50% and then it start moving then it stop moving and seem like its about to cut off again. I REALLY NEED YOUR HELP !!!

  15. hello iv been working on my 2001 yz250 that has been sitting a few years, I rebuilt the top end, and cleaned the carburetor but i just can't get it to stay on and idle, and when I test ride it, the bike only stays on when the RPMs are high otherwise it boggz out a bit..not sure if it's from too much gas to the carb or what..any suggestions ?

  18. Hey i have a question and i really need your help. I have a 2 stroke cr85 and i keep foing the plugs. The air screw mixture is 2 full turns out as according to the manual but i have noticed one problem that i think might be causing it, my bike starts right up without using the choke at all. I heard that a cold engine isnt supposed to start with the choke off. Any suggestions on where i should start? Im using a 32:1 mix as well. Ive also noticed spooge coming out of the end of the silencer and the part where the silencer connects to the manifold.
  19. Could the low idle fuel/air ratio be slightly changed by tweaking some of the jets or needle to eliminate decel popping?
