In this video, Wim Hof (The Netherlands) swam 57.5 m. (188 ft 6in) under ice in a lake near the Finnish village of Kolari on March 16, 2000. He did not make use of any special equipment, and wore only swimming trunks and a pair of goggles. 4. this is not the farthest swim under ice according to the description itself. Fix the title.
  5. I'm curious, Is there video of the attempt Wim made where he was WITHOUT goggles and part of his eye (cornea...retina?) started to freeze and he couldn't SEE the exit hole and he missed it?
(I believe he passed out). Wim discussed this on Joe Rogan's podcast and at least one other interview... so I'm wondeirng, is this one a later attempt?... was it the same day? a different day?...
    Anyone who actually knows?

  11. 0:31 Try that swimming in boiling water.
  12. Och, you don't die in seconds from swimming in icewater. And even on the northpole the seawater under the ice is not colder than -2 celcius or so. Just google the icemile. Normal people are in 30-40 minutes and walk away unharmed. You just need a bit of training like with everything else. I myself swam more than 5 minutes in a frozen lake yesterday. Feel great. Only started a month ago.
  13. Dolboeb!
  14. Says he's mastered keeping his internal body temperature the same

"Get that core temperature back to normal."
    Slow clap
  15. So how far did he swim ?
  16. I am actually very surprised that this record holder is not Finnish. Because we make a hole in the ice and swim there for daily bases.
  17. What's the yoga thing call
  18. this is quite normal here in finland
  19. Lol come to finland!
  20. I need to applaud the camera men too. How did they tolerate the cold being in there with him?!?!
