More than 300 km/h on a skinny and completely stripped bicycle, this is amazing, and crazy! Who thought that one day a daredevil on a bicycle, with a rocket under the saddle, could travel the quarter mile in less than 7 seconds? 3. Just curious, how did you manage to keep the tires on the rims at that speed? The centrifugal force generated at that speed pulls smaller diameter tires off the rims as witnessed in drag-racer Shirley Muldowney's career ending (and nearly fatal) crash. She was at nearly the same speed you ran and she was using much smaller tires. One of them stretched enough to dismount itself from the rim and then got tangled in her steering gear causing the wreck.
