GARRY TURNER, MAN WITH WORLD'S STRETCHIEST SKIN

GARRY TURNER from England could spread to the abdominal skin to 15.8 cm, for that he was awarded by the GUINNESS BOOK OF WORLD RECORD. Unfortunately this is due to a rare disease known as syndrome Elersa- Danlosa violation connective tissue, affecting the skin, ligaments and internal organs. Collagen, strengthens skin, and is responsible for its elasticity, damaged, which, among other things, is the weakening of the skin and joints razboltannost. In more severe cases, this can result in the destruction or rupture of blood vessels, leading to death. https://www.fb.com/MimsSweetandSourCafe

  1. I have EDS glad to see the awareness raised on the reason for his stretchy skin <3
  2. Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) is NOT rare. Several articles on the same, or similar, videos share EDS is prevalent about every 1 in 10,000. In reality, it far less, ranging from "1 in 2,500 to 1 in 5,000 people. Recent clinical experience suggests EDS is [even] more common," (www.ednf.org). Though the video from 2009 is older, it's been known the 10,000 number is now too broad. Many go undiagnosed, and it could be much more common than thought, even more prevalent than Multiple Sclerosis(MS). There are also 6 different types, with 3 being more common. The most common is hypermobility type, Mr. Turner has the classical type--the stretchy skin aspect. Though it may not hurt him to stretch his skin, his joints cause a great deal of pain. Most EDS patients have some level of pain, with many being in chronic pain constantly. In addition to the pain, fatigue, dislocations, subluxations (joints sliding around, but not fully dislocated), and easy bruising, other conditions often arise. Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), Mast Cell Activation Syndrome/Disorder (MCAS/D), Gastroparesis, MS, fibromayalgia, and others can coincide with EDS making living very difficult. "There can be a wide or narrow range of severity within a family, but each person’s case of EDS will be unique,"(ednf.org). EVERY case is different. I have chronic pain, but minor compared to others. I can get by with muscle relaxers, tylenol, and some small opioids, but others need morphine vicodin and more. Many need multiple surgeries throughout life, end up in wheel chairs, or stay in bed for long periods. We can seem "normal" one day but be completely exhausted, bed ridden, or overcome with pain the next. I don't mind Mr. Turner doing what he does, but if doing so, he really needs to clarify correct and updated information.
