  1. after the first minute her voice becomes irritating
  2. if I were to stand in front of the engine whilst it spools at full speed, what would happen?
  3. It's worth remembering that twin-engine airliners are inherently over-powered compared with three or four engine planes, simply to allow for the 50% loss of power if an engine fails on take-off. This is also important for landing, making twins better able to handle microbursts of the type which brought down the three-engined L-1011 at Dallas-Ft. Worth. While four-engine planes are not so over-powered, they are generally long-range and so on landing are relatively light, with lower weight-to-power ratio than the shorter-range triples when landing. This was all discussed after the crash of Delta flight 191. The engine reliability and safety of large modern jetliners are astonishing compared with the airliners of 50 or 60 years ago. Air New Zealand has 6.5-hour ETOPS approval to fly non-stop to South America.
  4. Designing for failure isn't a Boeing design parameter..
  5. Making a huge airplane with only 2 engines is not a Boeing decision, it was a desire of the first buyer (UA).
So there was a technical mistake, what would happen if one of the 2 engines failed? The airplane gonna loose 50% of it's power...but if it was with 4 engines (of the same current thrust ), then in case of engine failure, it would loose only 25% of it's total power..which is better & safer..
Boeing sacrificed saftey against finding a buyer!!!
  6. Let's wait until the Russians weigh in with their entry before claiming that GE's engine is the biggest.
  7. She is pretty.
  8. that engine is big !
  9. muito show
  10. They say every time one of these engines rolls of the production line another baby turns gay. You have to ask yourself, is it worth it? You decide.
  11. Still amazing
  12. Actually you started it with the comment "They do. Far beyond it" GE engines are way more reliable, efficient and technologically advanced over RR! Pratt & Whitney has substantial quality over everyone and have been the first engines on 747, 737-200, etc. It also brought the 707 to life!
  13. Did someone say suck on cock? I will! I love how people think it's offensive when it's clearly not. . . HAHAHA
  14. a hundred.....thousand.....horsepower?
  15. Dear Santa....
  16. I only have one account and wether it's me or some one else you don't need to comment on anyone like that and if you're someone who has knowledge of avionics well up to outstanding heights (which you probably do), it still doesn't make you any smarter or better when you show unprofessional behavior towards other people.
  17. nobody cares about you. i'm talking about the other dickhead. so don't flatter yourself. and if you are the other dickhead with a different account, the fact that you're not appropriate age means that you don't have the resume that you claimed.
  18. Well for starters this "fine catch" isn't of that appropriate age and he also has no online anger issues.
  19. oh, i wonder why? he's clearly such a fine catch, with his obvious online anger issues!
  20. But not even married Sir Isaac Moron.
