2. The "St. Augustine mass", discovered after being washed ashore by a recent storm. It was badly decomposed, but eyewitness said they could see the "stumps" of where the tentacles would've been attached. Supposedly, a small sample was analyzed under a microscope. It was believed to be muscle tissue from an octopus, which have very distinct muscular striations from any other sea creatures. The remnant of the mass,.. was estimated to weigh over six tons. The mass, "if I recall correctly", was washed out to sea by another storm,.... one small sample that oddly enough, disappeared, was the only one taken.
