Giant Snapping Turtle caught on Fish Hook and Line

I hooked this Giant Snapping Turtle fishing a minnow on the bottom of this lake fishing for Walleye...Wow, the size of this thing...I have never seen a bigger one ever...I cut the line close to the turtles mouth but not to close because I didnt want to get bit...The hook will rust and fall out in the next week or two and the turtle will be fine...

2. Dude wtf just pick the turtle out of the water and unhook the hook with some pliers. That way the turtle won't have a hook stuck in the bottom of its mouth, but NNNOOOOOOO you were just worried about the line. Reptiles can feel pain y'know. And that must've hurt the snapping turtle like hell.

9. I caught one yesterday and tried to butcher it. It was a whole lot of work. The meat was good though, kinda tasted like bullfrog.
10. I caught a big snapping turtle years ago fishing on bottom. quite a surprised when I saw what it was.

20. Yeah now we are talking monster turtle. That was a big one for the north Gonzo. They take a long time to get to that size. I'm working on a turtle trapping video will be done soon. Thanks for showing us the lake dinosaur.
