Groovebook, one of my favorite Shark Tank companies, shared some very big news today on Good Morning America - check out their amazing story, it's the American Dream!

  1. But how much did the entrepreneurs actually make from the deal? I remember the original deal was something like 80% of it went to the sharks and 20% to the entrepreneurs. The second part of the deal was that the entrepreneurs maintained 100% of their right to print the books. Anyone know the final terms? Just curious.
  2. a shark made me millions. I was in the shark tank and suddenly the shark bit my leg clean off. I sued sea world for $5 million and won the case.
  3. it's nothing to do with an 'American dream' --- that phrase is decades old and just gives rise to the hope and success that can be achieved to all through hard work in the USA. this is an intensely scripted/edited and long drawn out REALITY SHOW which was originally Japanese and then copied from the UK version called 'Dragons Den' about a decade ago; success can and does happen for businesses in every country where this shows format is used; for the 1% of apps (in this case) that do get acquired and make news -- it doesn't matter what channel it came via; however in this instance, they had a good product which comes with the exposure to tens of millions of people discovering the business from the comfort of a sofa. 99% of other apps, anytime, anywhere, any continent, do not get acquired and reach media hysteria. i applaud the founders; a stint on tv can make or break a business - many many months, sometimes a year+ goes in to research of applicants and their respective companies. being a reality show; take the success of this one company from thousands applying each week with a pinch of salt. work hard, believe in your idea, create a solution and regardless of the channel, you're already nearer your dream. 8. Brian and Julie sold the rights to Shutterfly for $14.5 million. I hope that Brian and Juliegot a percentage too with that $14.5 million. I have an idea for a major direct salescompany. They said they want it but it's too untimely to use it. I'll take my royalty, please!
