If you watch the Phil Jackson press conference in full and actually listen to what he's saying about team identity and building a team (instead of taking one sentence out of context), he's clear about the vision. The problem is the sense of entitlement that almost all NBA players have now with no desire to do the work. The reason his style worked with MJ and Kobe is because they were always striving to be better and were willing to be coached.

I don't find the reporters question all that dumb really, I think he was asking whether or not Doc wants his players to just force up a shot and hope it goes in and if not possibly get an offense board to try a again quickly or to be patient with the ball intiatlly and see if theres a more better open look to score
