Japan or any other countries should not let any buildings to be build near ocean of that level high or what calculations indicate possible within reach. Many countries, I wish, start to move away settlements from ocean coastlines.

I've not considered wave-height as water-level before. If that is what is meant (by every account I've heard before this clip) then I've got to reconsider all previous examples.

this was probaly the second most devastating tsnaumi behind the 2004 Indian Ocean tsnaumi and this is not close to the tallest tsnaumi ever recorded it was the 1,700 plus ft tsnaumi in Alaska but rip all those people who died in those two tsnaumi

a bathtub also fills up eventually, if one pour enough water into it...the high water mark was from the water filling up the bay over time...its not 1 wave for christ sake. also..the wedge shape of the bay.. ofc does so as it fills up faster as the original width far out result in a big portion of the wave are funneled in...and there is less cubic meters to absorb the incoming water. it has nothing to do with waves bouncing off each other from both sides lol
