Indoor Rowing 500m World Record - 1:14.4s Rob Smith & 1:29.4s Graham Lay



Graham Lay doing a proper "fly and die" over indoor rowing 500m in the same race as Rob Smith breaking the World Record for 500m with a time of 1:14.4s. I'm still no Steve Redgrave, Matthew Pinsent or James Cracknell though! And my rowing technique on the Concept2 indoor rowing machine is a bit better now too!   13. as if this is the record dude.. they are doing this 500m rowing challenge at my gym, and i've never done cardio once... and so i hop on the shit, and it was set to the highest resistance level. started the shit, and thought i was done at 200m because i though she said 200m challenge... so i stopped at 200m for a few seconds, and she told me it was a 500m challenge, so i was like, fuk... so i continued on till 500. absolutely fckn depleted, and finished 500m in 1:23

    and just again, i stopped at fckn 200m for a few seconds, lost some damn buffer when i had to start up again, and i've never done cardio even once. let alone used this machine. so uhh. my legs were fckn ded, and my heart was fittin to explode in my chest. my lungs were fckn gone. and i'm 100% natty... plus i was bloated from a huge fckn meal from kfc, fckn fatigued from my 2 hour work out session... so i wasn't even performing at my peaks kunt... i'm only 18 brah, only do compound and isolation exercises dude. tf... i could beat ur ass so easy.. imma record that shit next time and fckn waste you fools.

    as if this is the world record my ass. fuk outta here wit that fuk nigga bull sht nigga. i hold the record kunts. where is my fckn medal. faggot.
  14. Man - some of you guys are harsh ... and a little thick.
    Harsh ... because you are having a go at an overweight guy having a serious crack at doing something to lose the weight. He never claimed to be an olympic rower.
    Thick ... because you don't seem to get that the rowing ergo is now a sport in it's own right. To say that these guys would be crap in a boat is ridiculous/irrelevant (they don't want to row a boat - just an ergo). It would be just as valid to say that a lot of competitive boat rowers would struggle to post a blistering time on the ergo because they couldn't help but to apply proper boat technique (good "catch" etc) - which would slow them down (this from someone who used to row competitively).
    Cut him some slack, cheer them on and see what they can come up with : )

  20. You idiot you might have won if you had bothered to use your legs properly. There's nothing proper about that fly and die. It just means going all out right out of the gate not letting your legs flop about like noodles while you get gassed by overworking your upper body.
