He released it back into the water that's why he was wading In the water with it getting the last picture before he started reviving it in the water.... if not he would have dragged it further onto the beach and also would not have put the tarp down to protect the skin and slime on the catfish es belly.... you people on youtube are so ignorant to the most common sense things it's ridiculous... also most of these guys that catch these giant wels are professional fisherman or very experienced fisherman who appreciate these fish and understand to keep a good fishery of mature very old we'll they must release them especially the very old giant fish with great genetics... also this fish is very old and would not taste near as good as a young 10lb wels that they could probably catch and clean easily... also that is way too much meat...
3. I have quite an old lthuanian book (don't have it by the hand) about fish (not about fishing, it's a bit more on the scientific side) and I remember 300kg (or 660lbs) written as the max weight. This may not be completely true but while 127kg truely is impressive, it's nowhere near max size of catfish. Yes I am talking about european catfish.

11. The fish is not dead BTW, this is how they sit after a huge battle as they tire out and have to regain their strength before they are able to move freely again. Most places where large fish such as this are caught, its catch and release, and even if it were not, these really big fish do not taste that great, so its likely they would be returned to the water anyways.
