Many people have probably forgotten Aiyana Stanley Jones; yet, how can I ever forget the day that Officer Weekley raided the home of Aiyana with a no-knock warrant as "First 48" reality show filmed. Weekley, knowing he'd be blinded by the flash grenade tossed through the front window as Aiyana slept on the front room couch, SHOT her, then only 7 years old, without provocation, despite his claim that Aiyana's grandmother got into a struggle with him over his gun. While Weekley was charged with involuntary manslaughter in the 2010 case, along with other misdemeanor charges, he beat the murder case and all misdemeanor chargers were dropped when two juries failed to reach a unanimous verdict in 2013 and 2014, followed by and Judge Hathaway's pathetic decision to not pursue the case any further. Aiyana would be 15 years old on July 20, 2017. Thanks J. Cole for remembering her. In the Mexican tradition, as long as we remember Aiyana Stanley Jones, she will never die; yet, may she Rest in Peace in the Arms of the Lord, GodAllah.
