What hes saying is,he is a backpacker/backpack rapper,but people tend to box backpack rappers and limit them before they go so far.like they only listen to a certain kind of music.True,they dont really mess wit mainstream,but that would be more of a backpacker.the difference is a backpack rapper doesnt want to be labeled underground because he has deep concepts n thought provoking lyrics.Cole himself,(2010 when it was uploaded) aspired to be more than underground.though he enjoys that craft.

@flyingfaustino underground rappers, who, for the most part want to stay underground and be respected as an underground artist. Hence they aren't signed to a record label. most thinks its selling out because you'll have to make "mainstream" music/music for the masses, which may pose a threath to your style if you arent used to making "pop tunes"
