Released on November 1, 1976. To this day, it is the best-selling album of his career. The album took place in the context of Taylor's end of his recording contract with Warner Brothers. It features redone versions of "Carolina in My Mind" and "Something in the Way She Moves", both of which had previously been included in Taylor's 1968 debut album. It also includes previously unavailable live version of "Steamroller". The album did not rise higher than #23 on the Billboard albums chart on its original release. However it became a steady seller for many years, and Greatest Hits has sold over 11,000,000 copies certifying it as a platinum album eleven times over, and a diamond album once (for 10 million copies). In August 2012, the album re-entered the Billboard albums chart at #15, which gave the album a new peak. ༺♥༻ James Vernon Taylor (born March 12, 1948) is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist. A five-time Grammy Award winner, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000. He is one of the best-selling artists of all time, having sold more than 100 million records worldwide. Taylor achieved his breakthrough in 1970 with the No. 3 single "Fire and Rain" and had his first No. 1 hit the following year with "You've Got a Friend", a recording of Carole King's classic song. His 1976 Greatest Hits album was certified Diamond and has sold 12 million US copies. Following his 1977 album, JT, he has retained a large audience over the decades. Every album that he released from 1977 to 2007 sold over a million copies. His chart performance had a resurgence during the late 1990s and 2000s, when he recorded some of his most-awarded work (including Hourglass, October Road, and Covers). He achieved his first number one album in the US in 2015 with his recording Before This World. ༺♥༻ Information May Be Questionable... Compliments Of The Internet ༺♥༻

  5. Awe, James I am a fan, real fan. I grew up with your music. My Husband played exactly as you do. He has an acopella voice and as gifted as the one man I have never seen such beautifully talented man, with his electric guitar, his songs and Heart. It's a shame that I have seen a few people who should've made it to the top.. I have seen the best pas away... James you are truly a blessed man. If you ever make it to S.L. C. Utah. You ought to look up a guitar soloist. His name is ILFAN , lol. Really. Russell D. Thomas. He's a master musician who would love to have his name on your label as you do another album.. I would be humbled if you were to come to Utah and check out the shameless black sheep sorta inbred. We're mormons. Im sure apologies for that, I can't hep it . I enjoy funnin with my favorite humorous character to watch and laugh till you cry because inbreeding people well you have to watch this for self. It's not really meant to be mean.. I love them all. They're funny people here. Anyway thx. You're music gets me through some good and bad memories in my life. I am indebted for you and your wonderful work. God Bless you Mr. James Taylor, your wonderful.. I hope the rest of your life is so full your cup runs over. Love always, Deborah...
