Kahr PM9. The super accurate compact 9mm pistol.

We shoot the Kahr PM9 Compact Pistol and test its accuracy. It's a top of the line carry pistol. A great option for daily self defense concealed carry. Its' double action trigger is one of the best on the market.

  1. Go back to your fist shot at around timeline 1:55....what the heck was that !?....a severe delay in the slide going back into battery ????
  2. cute gun
  3. Perfect gun for road rage situations
  4. Just picked up the PM9 Black Diamond with factory night sights. Love the Kahr pistols
  5. if small matters most to you, get a kahr. the triggers are great compared to almost any other pocket pistol too
  6. The PM9 has been my EDC for over a year now.
It is so compact, it literally has the same feel in it's DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster as my wallet!  (Note, I am thinking of switching to the DeSantis SuperFly because
it's outside is stickier.  I live in a warn to hot climate and wear shorts  a lot.
I would like to see if the SuperFly is more likely to stay in my shorts when the gun is draw.

I had to train myself to bring BOTH my wallet AND my Kahr when going out because I have gone out more than a few times and not realized that I had forgotten my wallet until it was time to pay at checkout.

I got my with the blackened stainless finish.
IMHO, for concealed carry stealthy is the only way to go.

I don't shoot too often because my hearing is already not the best.
When I first purchased the gun, I ran 200 rounds through it, bot FMJ and Speer Gold Dot +P JHP for short barrels.

I only had one FTF and it was the 200th round.
I was getting tired and I think it is quite likely that I limp wristed it.
I have actually had people call me a liar online because of this reliability claim!
    Whatever.

Just so you have the big picture, here is what I did before my trip to the range.
Field stripped and cleaned the new gun.
Per the recommendation of some online, I then exercise the action a couple of hundred of times to loosen everything up a bit.

As far as the steep price...
Price is a consideration for me, however I treat guns as a lifetime investment,
As long as you are not foolish enough to make credit card payments on it, you only feel the price sting once.
  7. HOW DOES the PM9 compare to the MK9?
  8. Kahr HAS had some issues... but if broken in properly (200 rounds) and using good ammo, they usually run great.  the tolerances are very tight, leading to failures sometimes until broken in.  My PM9, CM9, P9 and P40 all ran without ANY issues.  Did have a mag follower issue, Kahr sent out replacements FAST and free.  I think the P9 is a better pistol than the PM 9... better grip area, slightly more accurate.
  9. I purchased my Kahr PM9 new in 2009 and it has been 100% reliable for me. I have about 1000 rounds thru it. I also have a Kahr K9 that I bought used back in 1995 and it too has been a reliable gun. But my Wife and I also owned 2 new Kahr P380's and they were not reliable and are gone.
  10. CM9  $325 at grabagun.
  11. Bet your life on Kahr? No way. Totally unreliable. Expensive junk
  12. Live Free or Die!!
  13. What the heck was that whizzzing sound at 2.33? Ricochet?
  14. I own a large number of handguns including a Kahr PM9. I can tell you. without fear of contradiction that the Kahar is the MOST UNRELIABLE WEAPON in my arsenal. DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT use this carry piece as your only line of defense. Your life depends on a reliable gun. I carried my PM9 for about a year and a half. I really wanted to like this gun. Size and weight were great for concealed carry. I regularly fire my weapons, keep them serviced and clean. I notice a crack had developed in the polymer frame just above the trigger guard. I contacted Kahr and sent the weapon in through my local gun dealer. Kahr could not explain the reason for the failure but they replaced the failed frame and issued a new serial number. The gun was returned to me and I again carried it as my primary cc piece. With less than 20 rounds fired through after repair, I checked the weapon as I periodically do. The slide was jammed solid. I do not keep a round in the chamber. The slide would not budge. I took the piece back to my gun dealer and he could not explain this second failure either. Kahr asked to have the gun returned again and stated they would probably replace to the weapon this time to keep my loyalty. I agreed. 8 weeks later they returned the same failed weapon to me stating there was nothing wrong with it after they'd dismantled and cleaned it but they could not explain the reason for the jam. Now I ask anyone reading this, Would you depend on this weapon in a life or death situation? I think this gun needs to be dropped in the ocean. In my opinion Kahr Arms makes the least reliable weapon out there unless you expect to get close enough to someone and perhaps hit them over the head with it. If you want proven reliability go with Smith & Wesson.
  15. I own both a 9mm Shield and a PM9.  They are both great pistols, but the Shield is too big to be a practical pocket pistol.
  16. At 2:32  you can hear the distinctive sound of bullet ricochet by the camera ...
  17. I plan on going to gun range and I can't wait to shoot this one
  18. I own the CM9 and at 21 feet I'll keep seven rounds inside of a three inch circle shooting rapid fire. The low bore axis reduces recoil and helps to keep the gun on target. Kahr pistols are excellent concealed carry guns.
  19. Thanks
