have one of these on my farm. my grandads. bit of a tricky way to start these things. sometimes it would start going backwards and instead of having 4 gears forward and 1 reverse it would be 4 gears reverse and 1 gear forward. pitty it ran off into a damn and drowned. and probly is rusted up bad now
Actually your both a little off on your understanding.
This is a Hot bulb or semi diesel.
Extremely low compression and narrow RPM range.
The exhaust is sort of tuned to that range, but really its just big to handle the volume of exhaust.
This engine probably does not exceed 600 rpm
It's a Field Marshall not a Lanz
Lanz
if thats the expansion chamber then fuck me drunk...its tuned for about 10,000rpm.
the centre section of a 'tuned pipe' determines the RPM value that the pipe is tuned to. since from the video there IS no centre section you're looking at unbelievably high RPM values.
so with this data in mind it is not a traditional expansion chamber exhaust. also probably NOT made for smoke rings but you know how stories from your uncle can go.
Thats the expansion chamber, 2 strokes need those to send pressure back into the engine.
Not for smoke rings...
I think it's infact a diesel, although would still like to hear it roar.
@trbossdoggy You are just stoned. lol
@fangus503 There's goofier tractors, I assure you.
@pierrepignal Unless you bought the little known DT3600, I doubt it.

That's the goofiest tractor I've ever seen. But it's awesome.
